This is allegedly the arrest of US Lieutenant General Roger Cloutier from a Facebook account.
On checking the mainstream news channel Риа Новости it was not possible to find this short footage. It means one of two things:
- The video is a fake
- The arrest was made but taken down for security reasons
Update: 13 April 2022, 1600 hours
The answer to the question the blog-post asks is no. It is not Roger Cloutier.
This video has been superimposed with a photo of Cloutier inset while the footage is the arrest of a fighter of the Tartar-Crimean battalion.
This is a reliable source and makes some valid, measured, points including:
“However, the Pentagon still responds to all inquiries from journalists about the capture of an American general in Ukraine with silence, which does not fit into its typical pattern of behavior.
The only conclusion suggests itself: the Pentagon is silent, because the truth can turn into an undesirable sensation for the US administration and will inevitably raise questions.”
If Cloutier has been captured, and increasingly it seems like he has, Russia can only be seen as the innocent party in this war – if wars can have an innocent party. When Putin was pushed by the increased territorial gains of NATO facilities he had to act. On 23 February 2022, with an obvious heavy heart, he started special operations.
“Any further expansion of the North Atlantic alliance’s infrastructure or the ongoing efforts to gain a military foothold of the Ukrainian territory are unacceptable for us. Of course, the question is not about NATO itself. It merely serves as a tool of US foreign policy. The problem is that in territories adjacent to Russia, which I have to note is our historical land, a hostile “anti-Russia” is taking shape. Fully controlled from the outside, it is doing everything to attract NATO armed forces and obtain cutting-edge weapons.”
Two days prior to that statement, in his speech recognising the independent republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, he said:
“The information we have gives every reason to believe that Ukraine’s entry into NATO and the subsequent deployment of NATO facilities here is a foregone conclusion, and a matter of time. . . Let me explain that the American strategic planning documents – documents – contain the possibility of a so-called preemptive strike against enemy missile systems. And who is the main enemy for the US and NATO, we also know. It’s Russia.”
During the course of the ongoing and unnecessary conflict documents have come to light that NATO-led Ukraine was planning to attack the Donetsk and Lugansk peoples republics in March 2022. Putin had to act.
If Cloutier is in the hands of Russian intelligence it proves beyond doubt that such an attack was not just a plan but already operative. If Pit-404 – said to be in the bowels of the Avostal factory – really is a NATO facility the consequences for NATO countries, Russia and the world, teeter on the brink of total catastrophe.
Anybody with faith in Western leaders today needs a sharp awakening. Russia is not the enemy. They are!
